With what we hope will be a return to the Wheatsheaf (and delayed by a month because of the lockdown extension), the Earl of Essex will treat us to a follow-up to his previous July 2012 talk about Sir Henry "Chips" Channon—this time with reference to the new fully-disclosed observations from the recently-published revised version of Volume One of his diaries (1918–38).

After 17 months of virtual meetings and live-streamed talks, we are hoping to capitalise on the technological know-how gained and live-stream the talk from the pub, for the benefit of those who can’t make it. We did this once before, last September, when we were briefly allowed back into pubs, and it seemed to work (although the pubs wifi is the weak link in all of this).
