Dress: 1920s elegance
The Candlelight Club is an award-winning clandestine pop-up 1920s speakeasy, in a secret London venue lit by candles. Each event offers live period jazz bands and vintage vinylism for your dancing pleasure, plus a dining options, cocktails bars and more.
Hosting this time will be Weimar vixen Eva Von Schnippisch, evoking the spirit of 1920s Berlin and singing heartrending songs of elegant decadence. There will be shimmering burlesque from the luminous Vicky Butterfly, and live music will come from bawdy bounders Jack Calloway and his Midnight Creepers, a hurricane of hot syncopation and ribald repartée. When the band aren’t playing DJs the Bee’s Knees will be spinning vintage vinyl into the night.
Elsewhere tarot reader Lucius will be on hand to glimpse into your future, Michelle Krausz will be running her vintage jewellery shop, and sketch artist Sophie Williams will be poised to capture you in all your finery.
Our venue will be a historic mansion in south London with its own ballroom. You can come just for drinks and dancing but you can also reserve a table with Champagne, or book the three-course dinner. There’s even an inclusive-drinks option. Ticket-holders receive an email two days before revealing the secret location (which is close to a tube station). So pull on your flapper dress and get ready to Charleston…
"The closest you'll find to an authentic Jazz Age experience in central London. Its unique ambience, fuelled by hundreds of candles, is truly a scene to behold." —Time Out
