The Chap magazine’s fourth annual saunter, celebrating the lost art of flâneurie—ambling through the city with no particular destination or purpose in mind, simply to observe human life and be observed in turn. This time there is the added frisson that this year marks The Chap magazine itself.
While there isn’t a structure as such, there are, erm, episodes, in that the mob tends to lurch from one watering hole to another (assuming they’ll have us, which they won’t always). In 2022 there was a final destination, a reception at the Camden Watch Company’s HQ; last year there was a vague gathering at Vout-O-Reenees at the end, which was jolly. As for an equivalent goal this time, watch this space.
The event kicks off at the statue of Beau Brummell on Jermyn Street. Feel free to join and/or leave the group at any point (if you can find them). We sometimes break for lunch somewhere.
