Club meets for a moot

So. Farewell then, 2022

On 22nd December the Club had its traditional pre-Chistmas get-together. For years this was always at the Dover Castle pub, until that shut down and became a bistro. So we switched our loyalties to the Rising Sun on Cloth Fair by Smithfield meat market (another Sam Smith's pub). It's also traditionally the one time in the year when we see Lord Mendrick to check he is still alive (he mostly teaches the children of the wealthy in far-flung parts of the globe), but once again he spurned us. (He did send a message suggesting he might make it in 2023, the little tease.) On the night, all we really do is quaff ale and chat, but, as you can see from the group photo, Bob the Lobster was there, Adie was dressed as a Christmas present and all was—perhaps for the first time in 2022—right with the world.
