The umpteenth in an increasingly irregular series of the Lady Malvern Memorial lectures, our talk this month will be “THE JOY OF ESSEX: A gourmet’s guide to Essex”, courtesy of Matthew Howard, somehow poking fun at both the county of Essex and our own Earl of Essex. Howard also points out that this month will mark the 18th birthday of the New Sheridan Club itself, as our first physical meeting was in October 2006. I would say that the club will finally come of age, but that clearly isn't the case—as I'm sure this talk will confirm.
